About Me

My passion for video games comes from my childhood. I started playing them
when I was only 5 years old. At that time I played games, such as
The Sims, Mario Forever, Icy Tower, and Minecraft. 

It was not until I was a teenager, that I got interested in programming.
I was thinking that it is too early for me to learn advanced coding languages, such as
C++ or Java, so I only got myself into 'programming' with Microsoft Excel.

Once I got to high school, I chose one of my subjects to be Computer Science.
This is where I got my first actual coding experience, and it was mostly using Scratch,
NetBeans (for Java) and I also learned a little about Swift language.

But why did I choose to focus on computer games?

During high school, I got myself interested in the Overwatch game. It is a team-played
third-person shooter, which was completely different from what I usually played back then.
I got invested in the game so much, that I was spending hours reading the lore, how the heroes were designed, how does the team create a map, etc.

This is what got me interested in actual game development and design. Once I finished
the high school I knew that I want to be focusing on developing games for people.
No matter whether these are small arcade games, that are playable on the phone, 
or whether these are big lore-packed titles, with advanced mechanics.

To this day I research the games I actually play and find interesting ways on how certain problems were fixed, what techniques are used for developing a game. An example of it
is Fall Guys, which is a fun battle-royale game. There are loads of interviews with developers, which explain how the game works in terms of code and how they cope with game bugs.

The older I am the more knowledge and experience I have with games development and design. Some of it comes from what we get taught at university, while the rest comes from
what I learn on my own. Either way, my journey is very exciting and I am enjoying every
project I am working on.
